Η εναρκτήρια διοργάνωση της πρωτοβουλίας «Re-imagine Tourism in Greece» ανέδειξε τη σπουδαιότητα του βιώσιμου τουρισμού στη διατήρηση της φυσικής και πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της χώρας και στη μακροπρόθεσμη επιβίωση του κλάδου.
Οι συμμετέχοντες είχαν την ευκαιρία να πληροφορηθούν για τις βέλτιστες πρακτικές και τις καινοτόμες λύσεις στον τομέα και να συζητήσουν τον ρόλο των εμπλεκομένων φορέων, των τοπικών κοινωνιών και των κυβερνητικών πρωτοβουλιών.
Παρουσιάστηκαν επίσης ιστορίες επιτυχίας και δημιουργήθηκε μια πλατφόρμα για δικτύωση και συνεργασία μεταξύ των συμμετεχόντων.
Στόχος ήταν να δημιουργηθεί ένας οδικός χάρτης για ένα πιο βιώσιμο και υπεύθυνο τουριστικό προϊόν στην Ελλάδα, προς όφελος τόσο των τοπικών κοινωνιών όσο και του κλάδου στο σύνολό του.
